THE CULTURE OF HARD WORK

To foster volunteering and a love of sports in our students, EDEM collaborates with the Correcaminos sports club as the main collaborator in the Trinidad Alfonso Foundation races. Specifically, students in EDEM take part as volunteers in the organization of the Valencia Marathon and the Valencia Trinidad Alfonso Half Marathon, activities that instill in our students the drive to improve and to make a contribution to society.

GLOBAL ENTREPRENEURSHIP MONITOR

EDEM also collaborates in marketing and promoting entrepreneurship, sponsoring the Valencian regional team in the Global Entrepreneurship Monitor (GEM). This international project, whose mission is to research the role of the entrepreneur in economic development, is a worldwide model for its project management, methodology and results. Its reports provide a reference on the phenomenon of the entrepreneur and are used by many national governmental bodies.

JUNIOR ACHIEVEMENT

EDEM also promotes entrepreneurship in younger people, offering training workshops in colleges in partnership with the Junior Achievement Foundation in Spain, whose aim is to develop an entrepreneurial vocation in children, in order to help them achieve their goals within a framework of responsibility and freedom.

THE UN GLOBAL PACT

The UN Global Compact is an international initiative promoting the implementation of 10 universally accepted principles to bolster Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) in the areas of Human Rights and Business, Labor Standards, the Environment, and the Fight Against Corruption in the activities and strategies of businesses. With over 13,000 signatories in more than 145 countries, it is the largest voluntary Corporate Social Responsibility effort in the world. EDEM signed the Global Compact on June 20, 2011.

FAMILY BUSINESS

In conjunction with the Valencian Business Association (AVE), EDEM supported the creation of the Chair of Family Business in the Economics Faculty of the Universitat de València. The aim of this institution is to conduct research into and educate about the realities of the family business, studying the issues involved in setting up and sustaining this kind of company.

ENGLISH

At EDEM we believe a good command of English is fundamental to enable students to navigate our globalized world. In our junior programs, part of the courses are taught in English, and we require students to reach an advanced level in the official Cambridge ESOL Examinations, achieving a 95% pass rate. With this goal in mind we participate as a Pretesting Center for Cambridge. This allows students take simulated exams so that examiners can test their material, providing students with feedback on their English level in the tests.
